A curatorial reflection
I Am Enough was first presented in a beauty salon, a space not traditionally used for art exhibitions, yet deeply connected to the project’s themes.
A salon is more than a place of beauty. It is a threshold, a space where caring for the body can connect with identity, personal stories, and transformation.
As bell hooks reminds us, loving ourselves in a world that tells us we are not enough can be an act of resistance. Here, self-care becomes more than appearance; it becomes affirmation, empowerment, and community.
Through the camera, the women were portrayed not simply as faces, but as stories. Together, their images created a collective mirror, one that honors, validates, and celebrates their presence.
In a culture that often asks women to hide their age, their stories, or their bodies, saying “I Am Enough” becomes an affirmation of self-worth and presence.

The first presentation brought the portraits into the salon as projections—a shared encounter on International Women’s Day.
